This is the last installment of “Bad” Trilogy ( and I didn’t know that it was a trilogy before ) : Bad Housewife, Bad Family and Bad Couple. The stories aren’t related, so don’t worry if you haven’t seen the other two series. But..you should consider watched them, because all of those are good, funny in unconventional way.
I really glad that Lee Dong Wook ( of My Girl ) had to pull out the Gi Chan’s role. I can’t imagine other than Ryu Soo Young played this character.
No..no..I don’t have anything against Lee Dong Wook. He’s a good actor, and I enjoyed his performance as Gong Chan in “My Girl”, but after I watched this serial, well, I really thing he has the maturity and the sincerity ( and a little bit naive look ) that Ryu Soo Young-ssi showed.
Gi Chan is one in the billion man in the world, that I think this kind is not existed anymore. 30s single man, virgin ( like that so important! :p ), smart ( professor at so young age! ), handsome ( nice teeth! ), kind, romantic, rich ( that’s important!
), and from respected family.
I thought Jang Dong Gun’s character is the most impossible prince charming the K-Drama world, but this one, OMG, if I found this kind of man, I will forget all the pride and go catch him, like Dang Ja did! *lol*
He didn’t aware that Dang Ja intendedly go after him, following him around, tried to seduce him, just to think they met by coincidence.
Shm Eun Kyung, who I known as the gangster wife of the fenomenal “My Wife is a Gangster” also did a great job. She portrays Kim Dang Ja, 30s single career lady who never plans to get married and have family, until one day she got sick and taken care by her friend’s daughter, cute Yeon Doo..

After that, she thought it would be nice if she has a daughter-as beautiful as her- to accompany her, but she didn’t want to have a husband, settle down and make a family.
The chemistry between this couple is good, but I won’t say it’s sparkling high, because this is about adult romance, which is not included a lovey dovey cheesy romantic. Gi Chan’s romanticism is mature, touching, and caring. And Dang Ja’s seducing tricks are stupid silly but cute. I can’t help myself but smile when I saw her tricks to get Gi Chan sleeps with her.
The side stories are about Dang Ja’s friends, Dol Soon and Han Young.
As for Dol Soon, well, I am more interested to her story if that’s including Yeon Do. She is irresistible! Damn cute! And she can act. Ohh, I adore child actors of Korea. Bom of Thank You, Shin Bi of Wonderful Life, and now Yeon Doo.
Han Young’s story is more interesting. Han Young is a simple homemaker, and maybe the last thing in her mind was her doctor husband is ever cheating on her. But unfortunately, she has to face that her husband has been cheating for two years. At first she couldn’t accept it, but thankfully she has real good friends who always support her, and….introduce her to a young-handsome-secretly rich model to pretend as her fake boyfriend, in order to make her hubby jealous.
Meet Yoo Gun. Or Jung Soo. He is Young’s fake boyfriend. Oh he’s so..handsome? ![]()
He was known as young Won Bin at Korean entertainment industry. Me myself don’t think he resembles Won Bin in any way, but yes…he has the LOOK.
Some people said that Jung Soo and Han Young weren’t convincing enough as a couple despite their age gap. I thought so too. But well, their story is quite interesting to add the fun of this serial though.
Too bad it’s over now. But I am satisfied. Even though some people doesn’t really like the ending ( ups! it’s HAPPY ending. Don’t worry! ), I can take it.
I will remember this serial for now, and I even have recommended it to several person!
PS : While it aired in Korea, I couldn’t wait to see it, so I read the summaries which wonderfully done by Javabeans. If you interested, you can check it here. She wrote wayyy better than me!
Ohh, I must find my own Gi Chan!! ![]()
