I am in the mood to talk about it again…
You can’t resist a romantic guy with a guitar!
Like I said before in the previous entry, after I watched all the episodes of this drama, I’ll tell more about my opinion..
Generally I would say I am satisfied with it. The feeling is fresh, the story already well known, and this time remake is good.
All main casts @ beautiful Paris
( more pictures… )
1996 and 2007 casts. ( Zhang Jia Ni - Vivian Chen, Qin Lan - Stephanie Xiao, Alex Fong - Roy Liu, Bao Jian Feng - Kevin Lin )
( Don’t you think they have facial similarities? Or my eyes just lie to me? )
My conclusion is I like the newer version better. It doesn’t mean that the older one is bad, but maybe it related by the time I watched them.
The couples
I’d like to take my words back, that Alex and Jia Ni didn’t have the chemistry. By the story goes, they became better couple, and Alex’s Yun Fan is as romantic, caring, and charming as I expected.
Alex, has the luxury of looking younger than his real age ( he was born on 1963, means he’s 44. But hell ya, he still looks 35-38 for me..hahaha ), so he doesn’t look like a pervert standing beside Jia Ni, who is only 20.
Zi Ling & Yun Fan
( Seeing the pictures again, now I feel that Roy Liu De Kai looked aged. Particularly while standing beside Vivian. And Vivian was not as young as Jia Ni when the drama’s taken )
I didn’t see all the episodes of Dreams behind Curtain to tell whether Hsiao Xiang’s Lu Ping can portray the hurt swan, how she faced she lost her leg, but Qin Lan’s Lu Ping showed the progress from a beautiful, famous, carefree, confident dancer to a woman with fears, has no confident about her future, dependent, insecure with her relationship.
She went from bubbly charming girl to a girl with anger and vengeance to know her sister and boyfriend betrayed her..
I love the Paris’ scenes, the producer must spent a lot of money to make those, and it’s all worth!
Same setting, same style, different feeling, different interpretation
( Vivian -always- has sad/gloomy facial expression, that’s why she used many times on Qiong Yao’s works. While Jia Ni has more vibrant, youthful look. )
This drama got high rating when airing on China, thanks to the great acting from (most) of the casts.
And how the producer translated this old story in modern time is nice, I believe for those who already saw the 1996’s version will also like the remake.
It feels like watching brand new series, with familiar ( cliche ? ) storyline!
Definitely recommend it!
( PS : I’ve posted the link of the OST in my previous post. If you interested, you can check it there.. )
